2015 Brooklyn Non-Fiction Prize Program at St. Francis College on December 10th, 2015

 December 10th, 2015 St. Francis College Brooklyn Non-Fiction Prize Event


On Thursday, December 10th, 2015 the Brooklyn Film & Arts Festival in partnership with St. Francis College’s Humanities Department will present the finale of the 2015 Brooklyn Non-Fiction Prize program.



 Professor Ian Maloney, a scholar of American literature specializing in the works Herman Melville and Brooklyn's own Walt Whitman, will speak about Brooklyn literature to commence the program. Professor Maloney’s presentation is titled, “Only Everyone Knows Brooklyn: Hearing the Voices of New York's Favorite Borough."

 

 More than one dozen finalists competing for the $500 award from the 2015 Brooklyn Non-Fiction Prize will read their very real personal stories about their unique Brooklyn experiences in an event titled, “Brooklyn Stories, The Truth Re-Told.”

 

 
 


Winner of the 2015 Brooklyn Non-Fiction Prize will be announced at this event.

This program begins at 6:30 pm Thursday, December 10th, 2015 in Founders Halls on the first floor at St. Francis College located at 180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn Heights, New York, 11201.
